Silence is not golden

Lately life has been like an empty room. The walls are white. The furniture sparse. And I'm sitting. Pacing. There's no sound.

People file in and out, but they never say a word. I'm not alone. I'm just silent. The world is silent. Except for my thoughts.

And they're not always the most pleasant roommates.

There goes the light bulb... poem idea. I'll post it once it's written.

Anyway,

(By the way, did you know that "anyways" is slang? Everyone says it, but the proper word is "anyway." I caught this in middleschool sometime. Since then I have trained myself to use "anyway.")

I feel like my crazy Tech Writing professor. Her brain is quite spastic and she switches subjects as the thoughts pop into her head. Maybe it's an English major quirk.

Focus.

Honestly, I don't even remember what I was going to write about now. Great.

Five minutes later...

Right. I was going to post a song.

For those who haven't listened to the Avett Brothers, here is your first sampling. The band comprises of two brothers and a bass player. Sometimes a cellist. Their lyrics are poetic and interesting. The genre: folk-rock. Which is awesome. They have some of the most amazing slow and sweet songs, as well as the more upbeat tunes. Like this one. I especially love "The Ballad of Love and Hate."

And of course, have a wonderful Earth Day! Plant something. Recycle your paper. Hug a tree. I did...

Lo, my brain does that all the time... and I'm not an English major. (:
