And now I have proof.
Today in my Psychology course, I randomly volunteered for a word association demo. My professor said one word and I had to list off the words that came to my mind.
The word was "red."
This is my list of words:
apple
school
grass
CD
pencil
blood
heart
brain
hand
time
clock
paper
animal
Yes. That made perfect sense in my head at the time. And it also sounds just like me - that list of words. Words that I think about all the time.
The other guy who volunteered was given the word "flower." He thought about colors, the names of flowers, and women.
Yep. I'm crazy.
Although, the word "red" is a little more vague than "flower." Kind of.
Oh, and I thought of the word "grass" because grass is green. For me, green is the opposite of red. They're both my favorite colors but I strongly dislike them together unless it's Christmas time. All of those connections happened in the course of less than a second. And I went straight from "red" to "apple" to "school" to "grass."
The human brain is amazing.
I have serious trust issues.
And I'm crazy.
"Indeed, in that sense we're all rather often almost like mad people, only with the slight difference that the 'sick' are somewhat madder than we are, so that it's necessary to draw a line here." ~ Dostoevsky, Crime and Punishment
