Seattle can you offer me a hero?
Delve into the depths of your coffee shops, poetry readings, museums, bus stops, churches, airport, opera performances. Find a man holding sheet music. Brushing his fingertips across the books in a library's 800s. Sitting alone in a theater watching a new adaptation of Jane Eyre. A bus rider, waiting in the rain without an umbrella. Find me a hero.
Someone who knows the meaning of 42. Someone who's not afraid to cry in movies. Not afraid to use his voice. Not afraid to say hello to the homeless man on the street corner. Someone who hugs trees. Someone who can cook his own meat for dinner. I'll take care of the vegetables. Someone who knows the difference between "their," "there," and "they're." Someone who goes to church because he loves God with all his heart. Someone who looks up. A hero:
teacher
Time Lord
busker
used book store owner
Superman
poet
social worker
hobbit
librarian
Doesn't matter. Just as long as we can fly.
We'll fly around the world. To a galaxy far far away. Throughout all of time and space. We can save the universe together.
So search away Seattle, because I'm holding out for a hero. And it's going to take a superman to sweep me off my feet.
