One year ago today, on a Monday afternoon in the last week of October, I was admitted to the psychiatric ward of Overlake Hospital. Here are the things I did today instead of being admitted to a hospital. This is my celebration.
sun salutations
ate breakfast
made coffee
deleted emails from my two inboxes
filled out a reference for my flatmate
took a shower
walked to school
crunched in leaves
ate veggie pizza
attended the MLIS accreditation panel event
walked in the wind
talked to friend about job prospects and the future
saw Mt. Rainier
listened to Imogen Heap
went to my favorite cafe
bought myself a soy latte and pumpkin cookie
posted to the discussion boards in my online class
looked through the readings for my next class
texted with friends
went to Collection Development class
learned about the collection development experience of a middle school teacher-librarian
tumblr blogged for iYouth
worked on my DFW blog
talked to friend about the idea of working in an academic library
ate dinner
worked at the Odegaard Writing and Research Center
read about intrinsic and extrinsic motivation for my class tomorrow
filmed a #seattletoparis video
bought myself ice cream
made tea
Sounds like a lovely day celebrating! You are an encouragement, Lois, that these hard things in life can be overcome. Thank you for sharing!
