Reason #542 Why I Am Glad I Am An English Major, Now Library Info Science Grad Student
I had a bit of a nerdgasm while completing my course reading this afternoon. This brief passage won't make a lot of sense out of context, and my enthusiasm about this passage cannot be contained to a few words. Unfortunately, a few words are all I have time for. Just know that this passage binds together the English major and the Library Info Grad student. I'm very much excited for this quarter because we're looking at information organization and behavior through linguistics. Bringing together the beauty and wonder of language and matching it to science. Perhaps I romanticize. I don't care.
Anyway, here is the passage from James Gleick's The Information: A History, A Theory, A Flood:

Hmmmmmm... fascinating! That bit at the end is making me think about the Creature in Frankenstein. So interesting!
