Love me

the first and last particularly needy blog post (and not romantic)

Love me when I talk too much Love me when I run Love me in my tights and ugly sweater Love me when I make you tea Love me when I stand, crying, transfixed by the ugly girl in my mirror Love me when I break out in stress rashes and can't explain why Love me when I want to cheer you up but don't know how Love me when I don't answer the phone or text back Love me when the Sadness comes Love me when I'm smile Love me with my bumps and curves, the way my skin creases and folds Love me when I travel Love me when I worry Love me when I stare at you Love me when I'm lonely, even when we're together Love me when I fall Love me when I sit with a pillow in my lap Love me when I don't talk all day long Love me when I say the wrong thing Love me when you don't understand Love me when I shed a little blood Love me when all I want is a hug, not a lecture Love me when I trust you not to lie but you do anyway and then I'm sad Love me when I want to hold your hand Love me when I make you smile Love me when my hair looks nice Love me when I fidget Love me when I can't understand love Love me when there's a song on my lips or drumming in my fingertips Love me when I sleep to escape

Or don't

And just love me

Sonnets from the Portuguese by EBB
XIV

If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
'I love her for her smile--her look--her way
Of speaking gently, --for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of pleasant on such a day ' --
For these things in themselves, Belovéd, may
Be changed, or change for thee, --and love, so wrought,
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheeks dry, --
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou mayst love on, through love's eternity

Matthew 8:1-4
