One of my favorite songs of the album is "By Your Side" and there's a verse that feels very appropriate:
And we were soldiers then,
Our bodies in the sand
And like that sand through our hands
Go our grandest plans
And just to see your face for one moment
I'd cross the ocean again
The end is not the end
I finished my time in Everett Youth Symphony. I finished my piano lessons and gave a senior recital. I finished at Everett Community College and graduated with my AA. I finished at Marysville Pilchuck High School and never have to be a high school student ever again (hallelujah!). I finished my seventeenth year and turned eighteen. I "finished" my childhood and started adulthood.
The song goes with all these changes because it's about fighting and losing and loving and standing through it all. And I feel like I've done that. And the end is not the end. The end is only the beginning.
So here's my beginning. I'm going off to camp. Practically moving out. Leaving my friends behind and having a summer adventure. I know this is where God wants me to be going, even if this ending/beginning feels rather solemn.
